Podcast December 9 – A Monster Calls, La La Land and Godzilla: Resurgence

As Westworld comes to a close, so does 2016. Your favorite pair of couch critics debate whether the end of HBO’s robot fantasy did the late Michael Crichton and our sci-fi hopes justice, while the pair caught separate previews of December releases:

Tristan – La La Land, the highly-lauded Oscar bait romantic musical directed by Damien Chazelle (Whiplash) and starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling.

Cory – A Monster Calls, the softly delayed tear-jerker fantasy that sees Liam Neeson voice a giant tree that advises a young boy (Lewis MacDougall) during a difficult time.

Cory also witnessed the newest edition of Japanese import Godzilla: Resurgence (also known as “Shin Godzilla”) from Toho. Find out if it vastly improves on the latest American attempt.

Tristan finally caught up on a long-awaited viewing of “Christmas classic” Elf. Is it worth all the bloated hype? Find out below, and remember to comment responsibly:
