Podcast March 24 – Power Rangers, Beauty and the Beast and Mean Dreams

The past two weeks have seen a continued influx of March blockbusters, proving once again that there is no time too inconvenient for studios to release their tentpoles across the world.

Last week saw the live-action version of Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens as the titular Disney pair, and Cory caught up by seeing that this week.

Before that Tristan and Cory are joined by frequent guest Jimmy Milliron to discuss VOD-release Mean Dreams, one of two remaining films on Bill Paxton’s docket before he passed away unexpectedly in March. Here he stars as a violent father chasing his daughter, on-the-lam with her erstwhile beau.

In between those two reviews, Cory provides us with the main event: Power Rangers, an adaptation of that adventuously campy 90’s kids show brought to us by Saban. You’ll have to get through to that review to see if it sticks the landing though.

Finally, Cory takes us down memory lane as Renton (Ewan McGregor) reunites with familiar faces in Edinburgh in T2: Trainspotting, a surprisingly adept sequel.
